Dog photography
Sarasota Dog Photographer
Relaxed, treat-friendly sessions that capture your dog's personality, with photos delivered the next day.
Your dog is family, and the photos should look like them: the goofy grin, the tilted head, the zoomies. I come to you: at your house or a nearby local park, on their own or with the whole family.
How a dog session works
We pick your home or a nearby park, whichever your dog is more comfortable in, and a time with soft light. Treats are included, and you're welcome to bring a favorite toy or outfit. I keep things easygoing, let your dog set the pace, and work in short bursts so nobody gets tired or bored. Sessions are about an hour, and I shoot mostly candid and in motion.
With the family, too
Want a portrait of your dog with the kids, or a family session that includes the pup? Just say so when you book and I'll make sure everyone gets photographed together.
Bring your dog to a beach session
Want your dog in your family or couples beach photos? You can add them to any of my beach sessions. Your dog counts as one person toward your group size. Just check that the beach allows dogs, and I'll help you choose one that does. See sessions & prices.
I have a dog of my own, so I know how much patience and bribery it takes. You can see more of my dog photography on Instagram at @KarenTheCoton.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you photograph dogs?
I come to you, either at your home or at a nearby local park. Your dog is usually most relaxed somewhere familiar, and I'll suggest which works best based on your dog's energy and the light.
Do I need to be there, and can the family be in the photos?
Yes to both. You're there to keep your dog comfortable, and I'm happy to include you, the kids or the whole family alongside your dog.
What if my dog won't sit still?
That's completely normal. I shoot candid and in motion, bring patience and treats, and you're welcome to bring a favorite toy. Some of the best photos come from the zoomies.
Can you photograph more than one dog?
Yes. Let me know how many dogs are coming and how they get along, and I'll plan the session around them.
Can I add my dog to a beach session?
Yes. Your dog is welcome at any of my beach sessions. They count as one person toward your group size, so a family of four plus a dog counts as five. Please check that the beach you choose allows dogs, and I'll help you pick one that does.
